Teachings of Gedatsu
Reverence to God, or the universal life force and respect toward ancestors
are at the core of our religious study.
We recognize that all things derive their life and existence
from a Universal Life Force, or God.
In additional, as Gedatsu followers, we honor and respect our ancestors
for our life’s blood and existence.
We strive to live with the attitude of being allowed to live each day.
What is "Tenjin Chigi Omikami" ?
The great life force permeating the entire universe is the source of all life. All living things are born and nurtured by this universal life force, and all natural phenomena such as the movement of celestial bodies, seasonal changes, and our physical functions are also controlled by this universal life force. The founder of our church called this great life force of the universe "Tenjin Chigi Omikami", or the Supreme Spirit of the Universe, and made it the main enshrined deity. Also he enshrined the all guardian gods and Yaoyorozu-Okami (all the gods) who serve under the Tenjin Chigi, or the great life force of the universe.
Appreciation and Requital
At the heart of the Gedatsu teaching is reverence to the Universal Life Force, or God, and respect toward ancestors. This comes from traditional Japanese beliefs.
Gedatsu emphasizes the importance of recognizing the profound and immeasurable blessings we receive from five sources – country, parents, teachers, society and all living things – and expressing our gratitude for these blessings in our everyday life.
The law that governs and regulates the entire universe is
the manifestation of the Divine Will of Tenjin Chigi.
"The law that governs and regulates the entire universe,
the principle and source of creative energy, authority and benevolence
– all are the manifestation of the Divine Will of Tenjin Chigi, or the supreme Spirit of the Universe."

Human life is a spiritual offshoot of God.
"Human life is a spiritual offshoot of God. We are allowed to live by God.
Just as our physical being exists in accordance with the universal phenomena,
our hearts and minds must also exist in harmony with God.
Herein lies the basic law: We cannot, even for a second, be separated from God.”
